MTV and the Sept. 11th Attacks. I was watching MTV earlier today and they had a special where that one VJ is interviewing people in regards to the Sept. 11th attack. Apparently, the content programmers decided to pick RAP ARTISTS as the definitive source for social commentary. When Jadakiss was asked about the backlash against Muslim-Americans, he replied with something like: "Uhhhh, i mean..that's life." What the hell is this shit? If the late Biggie Smalls (may he rest in peace) was here, i'm pretty sure he'd have a lovely dissertation on the socio-economic state of America, immortalized in his song Last Day from the Life after Death album:

Uhh, uhh, uhh
Who the fuck wanna squeeze?

Who else is a good source of moral and social commentary? I'm sure Rhodes Scholar Nelly and his old 'Young Americans for Democracy' club members from Cornell, The St. Lunatics, would love to talk to MTV in regards to the tragedy. Or, what about the now defunct Democratic Grass Roots group Onyx? Why can't they find Sticky Fingaz? I'm sure he's working for some Inner-City Social Program now. Bottom line, it's a bunch of bullshit. There are plenty of other artists that would have more positive and constructive things to say than the Ca$h Money Millionares for Equal Opportunity of the California Poly-Technic Institute.
