Quick Movie Reviews.. for the uninformed. Goes back quite a while, however:

Drunk Punch Love - Liked the film. Kind of P.T. Anderson's 'throwaway' film with all the same themes he's visited before in his previous two films (Boogie Nights and Magnolia). He loves his "magnificent loser" protagonists, giving them enough flaws to recieve our sympathy which Sandler's character gets. Sandler basically plays Robbie from The Wedding Singer sans...Sandler. The entire cast does a good job, especially Emily Watson as Sandler's love interest. Check out this film.

Jackass - hahaha...stupid fun.

Solaris - Ok, aftering stumbling from his trifecta (Traffic, Erin Brokavich and Oceans 11) in Full Frontal, Steven Soderberg tries to regain his introspective movie chops with this film. First of all, it's whole existence is sort of the art-sci-fi genre that Kubrick's 2001: A Space Oddessey resides in. Anybody who's ever seen 2001: A Space Oddessey knows how extruciatingly BORING that film is. Solaris is in the same boat (in my book). As much as I wanted to like the film, how good the story is, it never really captivated me. There were flashes of brilliance scattered through the film, but the lull and slow pace of the movie never estabilished any mood to keep me interested. The cast was good, the cinematography was excellent but the story made me look at my watch every fifteen minutes. Even the theology spreadout through the film was stuck in the slow sap that was the plot.

That's all for now.
