Happy Birthday Sue! Today was my Mother-in-Law's birthday. She turns 32. I'm so lucky to have a Mother-In-Law that's not a crazy ass naggin' b*tch.

We had dinner over at Em's parents house, where Rising Sun starring Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes was playing on their big screen. Since it was made in 93', the film cast a shadow of anti-Japanese sentiments that echoed from the 1980's. I can remember when their economy was booming because of export car sales and the rise of Japanese Consumer Electronics. With many high profile property purchases throughout the U.S., it looked like everything was turning Japanese.

The U.S. Economy grew itself an inferiority complex because the Japanese were beating them at their own game--quality goods, low prices and new models of effeciency. The Soviet Threat was put on the backburner because of the empeding Japanese Economic Monster. And all we had was ALF.

The flashpoint began when Yoshio Sakurachi of Japan's Lower House called American worker's lazy and illiterate. Japanese bashing was at an all time high, but if you saw any of their Television programming, they really didn't need the help.

I want to carry on this tradition, because if they keep putting out these cool electronics, i'm going to go broke.
