The Hasselblad guys are dicks. Went to the Imaging USA Expo down at the Austin Convention Center today to check out the latest/greatest in Photography. As expected, Canon USA rolled out with a bang, with an exhibition piece that was bigger than any other single vendor. They even had their "Explorers of Light" (aka Professional Photographer's) do little speeches about..well, exploring light. It was nearly impossible to get any grubby hands on their cameras they had on display.

We ended up at the Leica display, where Gunter allowed me to fondle his Leica R9 w/DMR module. I mumbled, "Some day.." and the 6'10" German just smiled and said, "You've got to have goals." Yes Wolfgang, indeed.

Hasselblad had a 50x Series V-System Camera with their IXPRESS digital backs on. There was some guy there talking about the X-Pan system and how it was being discontinued, so "get it as quick as possible." I asked him if the Fuji version was being discontinued as well. He was somehow annoyed that a I, a short brother of color would ask him such a question and mumbled 'yes'. Prick.

The mix of the entire expo was a little like Luby's: OLD and WHITE. To be honest, there were plenty of young hipsters there, and the Asians that did come to represent were unusually small. Like pigmies from the isle of Fuji or some shit. Tiny.
