I never knew.


I was reading reviews of he new Modest Mouse joint and came across the fact that Johnny Marr (of The Smiths) had joined the band permanently. More than an additional guitarist, he's co-writing half the songs. The new single "Dashboard" is pretty bumping, but having listened to the entire album, it's pretty evident his influence on the group. James Mercer of the Shin's adds vocals to a couple tracks.
